Pickett - who worked at Guildhall School of Music and Drama for over 25 years - lured his victims to sound-proofed music rooms where no one could hear their cries, the Old Bailey heard.
A former teacher at the renowned Guildhall School of Music has been jailed for raping two pupils more that 30 years after the mother of one victim first reported him.
One of the girls sexually assaulted by Pickett complained to her mother in 1984 and she wrote to the principal at the Guildhall, but no further action was taken, the Old Bailey heard.
Instead of reporting the teacher to the police, the girl was told to find another school, the court heard.

Police said that Allica, who now lives in Northeast Washington, taught at the martial arts school from 1983 to 1994, and taught at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Prince George’s County from 1989 to 1991.
According to the D.C. sex offender registry, he was convicted of child sex abuse in Maryland in 1995.
Detective Constable Claire Harrison of the Metropolitan Police's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: “The victim has stated that the abuse has had a significant detrimental effect on his life due to what happened to him in his formative years.
"I would like to pay tribute to his courage and strength in coming forward and standing up in court to tell his story."
"The case allegedly involves a video of her performing oral sex on one of the victims, according to Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Gina Iosim, who is handling the case. The video shows Dufault performing the sex act on one of the victims while another victim is present, Iosim said."
Doesn't sound innocent to me....Prosecution is not denying the video exists. I cannot imagine a scenario where this teacher should keep her teaching license or remain out of jail.
Inspired by more than three years of this newspaper's reports on incidents where school employees failed to properly report child abuse, Assembly Bill 1432 went into effect Jan. 1, making it mandatory for certificated and classified workers to receive training within the first six weeks of each school year. Before the new law, districts were only "strongly encouraged" to train employees.
The 84-page training portal, located at www.mandatedreporterca.com, includes vignettes, videos and a test that participants must take and score 80 percent or higher to get the required certificate. School districts can also provide on-site training, instead of the online version, but need to get it approved by the state Department of Education.
